The Federal Government has earmarked N29.54 billion for the provision of kits, transportation, and feeding of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members in the 2025 fiscal year.
This allocation is part of the Miscellaneous expenditure for the NYSC under the Federal Ministry of Youth Development in the proposed N49.74 trillion national budget for 2025.
Other key allocations in the proposed budget include N104.56 million for honorarium and sitting allowances, N165 million for publicity and advertisement, and N50 million for postage and courier services.

Enhancing Infrastructure and Welfare
To address infrastructure and welfare challenges, the budget outlines significant investments, including:
- N45 million for the procurement and installation of three sets of borehole materials in NYSC orientation camps to improve water supply infrastructure.
- N120 million for the acquisition of 1,000 double bunk beds to alleviate overcrowding in camps.
- N520 million for the purchase of four ambulance buses to enhance emergency medical services.
- N35 million for the purchase of 1,000 life jackets to bolster safety measures for corps members.
Boosting Skill Development and Security
The budget also prioritizes skill acquisition and security enhancements for corps members. Key provisions include:
- N97.34 million for the purchase of Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) training materials to support vocational training.
- N426.24 million for teaching and learning aid equipment to improve educational resources.
- N28.9 million for the procurement and installation of Man o’ War equipment to strengthen camp security.
Sports and Training Investments

The NYSC is set to benefit from allocations aimed at promoting sports and administrative efficiency, such as:
- N730 million for sporting activities to encourage fitness and team-building among corps members.
- N30 million for service-wide training on the Government Integrated Financial Management Information System (GIFMIS).
Financial Provisions
The proposed budget also includes N2.2 billion for financial charges, comprising N961.28 million for bank charges and N1.25 billion for insurance premiums.
These allocations underscore the Federal Government’s commitment to improving the welfare, infrastructure, and operational efficiency of the NYSC, enhancing the overall experience of corps members during their service year.
