Nasarawa Man Confesses to Murder of NYSC Member

Timileyin Ajayi, a 32-year-old man, has confessed to killing his 24-year-old girlfriend, Salome Eleojo Adaidu, a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member serving at Nicon Insurance in Abuja.

Ajayi, who is currently detained at the Nasarawa Police Command’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Lafia, was arrested for the brutal murder of Adaidu.

The tragic incident occurred when Salome visited Ajayi at his residence in the Papalana area of New Karshi, Karu Local Government Area, Nasarawa State. According to police reports, Ajayi murdered Adaidu before dismembering her body, and was later caught attempting to dispose of her head on January 12.

During his interrogation, Ajayi admitted to the crime in an exclusive interview with Channels Television, stating that it wasn’t premeditated but stemmed from discovering her alleged infidelity. “She was cheating, hiding things from me. I found out from her phone where she was chatting with other men, and that led to what happened,” Ajayi said.

When asked if he regretted the murder, Ajayi responded, “I don’t have any regrets because life is reciprocal. If you want to do something to someone, you must understand what they are going through. We were compatible, and that’s why I don’t regret it.”

Ajayi was paraded alongside the weapons used in the crime, including a knife and machetes, by the Nasarawa State Police. The investigation continues as the police work to gather further evidence on the circumstances surrounding the murder.
