A massive explosion at a gas filling station in Sabon Wuse, Tafa LGA of Niger State, has destroyed vehicles, foodstuffs, and other goods.
The fire broke out late Saturday night when a tanker was offloading gas, burning for hours before firefighters arrived. Shockwaves from the blast sent residents fleeing in panic.
Though the inferno spread to a nearby petrol station and several shops, no casualties were reported. Witnesses say the damage could have been worse if the explosion had occurred during the day.
