A tragic road accident along the Agaie-Lapai road in Niger State has claimed the lives of four people and left 13 others injured.
The crash, which occurred on Monday, involved three trailer trucks in a head-on collision caused by speeding and a failed overtaking attempt. One of the trailers was transporting livestock, resulting in the death of 15 cows and 20 goats.
Confirming the incident, the Director General of the Niger State Emergency Management Agency (NSEMA), Abdullahi Baba-Arah, stated that emergency responders, including desk officers and volunteers, participated in the rescue operation.
He explained that two victims died on the spot, while two others succumbed to their injuries at the hospital. The injured persons have been taken to Agaie General Hospital for treatment.
As investigations into the accident continue, authorities have urged motorists to adhere to road safety regulations to prevent further tragedies.
