The Ekiti State Government has launched a Personal Identification Number and reflective jackets for commercial motorcycle and tricycle operators.

Commissioner for Transportation, Kehinde Ajobiewe, said the initiative will help monitor riders’ activities, ensuring accountability and reducing criminal incidents.

Speaking at the launch event in Ado Ekiti, Ajobiewe stated that every registered rider must display their PIN visibly.

The PIN system will serve as a government database, assisting authorities in tracking commercial riders and preventing criminal activities statewide.

Any rider who fails to register or obtain the official reflective jacket will face sanctions for non-compliance with regulations.

Ajobiewe emphasized that this measure is not decorative but a vital security step ensuring proper identification of all operators.

Stakeholders present included FRSC Commander Olusola Joseph, Homeland Intelligence Director General Adetuberu Oludotun, and other transport officials.

The commissioner urged okada and tricycle operators to comply, warning that strict enforcement will follow to maintain public safety.
