The NYSC Oyo State Coordinator, Mr. Kayode Ola Peters has charged the 2025 Batch A Stream 2 Corps Members to Strive to become not just job seekers, but job creators

The NYSC Oyo State Coordinator, Mr. Kayode Ola Peters has charged the 2025 Batch A Stream 2 Corps Members to Strive to become not just job seekers, but job creators, problem solvers, and wealth generators by embracing fully the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) of the NYSC.

Mr. Kayode stated this while delivering the address of the Director SAED, NYSC, Mr. Kehinde Aremu Cole at the occasion of the Flag-off ceremony of the 2025 Batch A Stream 2 SAED In-Camp Training which held at the NYSC Oyo Permanent Orientation camp, Iseyin.

The SC expressed that the significance of acquiring skills in today’s world cannot be over-emphasized. He said the nation continues to face high unemployment rates, driven in part by the growing number of graduates without corresponding job opportunities, which has prompted the need for self-reliance and entrepreneurship.

Mr. Kayode disclosed that the over-reliance on limited white-collar jobs has created the urge to establish the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) program, an initiative designed to address these challenges and empower the young graduates to become self-sufficient, innovative, and capable of contributing to Nigeria’s economic development as job creators rather than job seekers.
“The SAED Programme ’s mission is “To create a platform that will facilitate access for young graduates to the essential skills and resources necessary for successful entrepreneurship as a means of enhancing national development.”

He noted that the In-Camp Training is a vital component of the SAED program and will serve as an introduction to the various business entry opportunities available to them.He equally stressed that the programme will equip them with the basics of business planning and development.

The Oyo NYSC helmsman who emphasised that the Scheme is committed to providing the Corps Members with the knowledge and resources necessary to thrive in their entrepreneurial journey, remarked that NYSC has partnered with several regulatory bodies and funding organizations to support their development drive and initiative. He therefore encouraged the Corps Members to make the most of the opportunities provided by the SAED Programme.

Earlier in her opening remark, the Assistant Director, Mrs. Okolie Janet who gave an over view on the introduction of SAED, said the programme was geared towards empowering Corps members for self-employement and wealth creation.

She implored them to be determined to benefit from SAED as the Scheme in the State has brought in trainers that are expertise in their fields.” Open your mind and learn because there are great opportunities for you. We can see in you potentials that would turn things around, as you are on the verge of industrializing Nigeria”

The event also witnessed a motivational talk given by Mr. Orunnile Kolade from International Institute of Project and Safety Management ( IIPSM)
