Corps Member Donates 50 Hospital Bedsheets to Sokoto PHC, Earns Commendation

Driven by a desire to give back to his host community, Sadiq embarked on the project with the goal of enhancing patient comfort and hygiene at the health facility.

In a heartwarming gesture of service, Sadiq Tukur Gele (SO/24B/2550), a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member serving in Sokoto State, has successfully completed his Personal Community Development Service (CDS) project with the donation of 50 hospital bedsheets to the Primary Health Center (PHC), Gumbi, Wamakko Local Government Area.

Driven by a desire to give back to his host community, Sadiq embarked on the project with the goal of enhancing patient comfort and hygiene at the health facility. “I wanted to contribute to the well-being of those receiving care here, to show that no act of service is too small,” he said during the donation event.

The presentation ceremony witnessed the presence of fellow corps members, friends, and community members who gathered in solidarity to celebrate the impactful project. In recognition of his selfless contribution, Sadiq was awarded a commendation letter by the PHC management.

The in-charge of the Primary Health Center praised Sadiq’s dedication and urged other corps members to emulate his spirit of service to humanity.

Reflecting on the experience, Sadiq expressed gratitude to all who supported him. “This experience has shown me that you don’t need a big platform to make a difference — just a willing heart and commitment to serve,” he said.

His project stands as a testament to the NYSC’s vision of youth-driven community impact and highlights the positive role corps members continue to play in grassroots development across Nigeria.
