The Association for Students’ Social Welfare Nigeria (ASSW) has announced a partnership with Auxilium Max Company Ltd. (AMC) and MTN Skills Academy to provide Nigerian students with free digital skills training and professional certificates aimed at improving their employability.
The initiative, unveiled on Saturday in Abuja through ASSW’s flagship entrepreneurship platform, the Students Chamber of Commerce, will offer training in high-demand fields such as data analytics, project management and social media marketing.
According to the organisers, the programme is designed to address the growing digital skills gap among Nigerian youth while providing participants with opportunities for jobs, internships and scholarships after completing the courses.
Speaking on the initiative, the Founder and Executive Director of ASSW and Chairman of the Students Chamber of Commerce, Amb. Victor Adetolaju, said the partnership reflects the organisation’s commitment to improving students’ welfare through practical empowerment.
“This partnership represents a bold step in fulfilling our core mandate to promote the holistic social welfare of Nigerian students through practical empowerment,” Adetolaju said in a statement.
“Our flagship Students Chamber of Commerce has always championed entrepreneurship and commerce among students. By joining forces with AMC and MTN Skills Academy, we are not only removing financial barriers to professional certification but also activating a pipeline that connects students to jobs, scholarships and internships.”
Adetolaju noted that the training will be delivered through the MTN Skills Academy platform, which provides self-paced online courses designed to fit into students’ academic schedules.
Participants who complete the programme will receive digital certificates and will be linked to a network of potential employers, scholarship opportunities and internship placements across Nigeria and beyond.
Also speaking, the Chief Executive Officer of Auxilium Max Company Ltd., Love Uduma, said the partnership is aimed at building a new generation of digitally skilled young professionals.
“AMC is proud to partner with ASSW and MTN in this noble cause. Sustainable development begins with investing in our students,” Uduma said.
“This programme will produce a new generation of data-driven, project-savvy and digitally marketing-proficient young leaders ready to drive Nigeria’s economic growth.”
Organisers said the initiative aligns with the mission of MTN Skills Academy to bridge the digital skills gap across Africa by providing free access to training in digital, financial and career skills.
They added that registration for the programme has opened and is free for students across Nigeria, with applications to be processed on a first-come, first-served basis.
The Association for Students’ Social Welfare Nigeria, founded in 2017 and headquartered in Abuja, is a non-profit organisation focused on promoting students’ welfare, entrepreneurship and employability through various empowerment programmes.
