The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has paid its final respects to the late Hon. (Dr.) Jophia Nanker Gupar, describing her as a dedicated advocate for youth and women empowerment whose legacy will continue to inspire generations of young Nigerians.
The NYCN delegation, led by its President, Amb. Sukubo Sara-Igbe Sukubo, attended the funeral and burial ceremony held on Friday in Abwor-Dyis, Pankshin Local Government Area of Plateau State.
NYCN Honours Late Youth Advocate
The Council said its presence at the burial was a demonstration of solidarity with the Gupar family, the people of Plateau State and the Nigerian youth constituency during their time of mourning.
The delegation joined family members, traditional rulers, government officials, friends and other mourners in celebrating the life and contributions of the late Hon. Gupar, whose commitment to youth development, women empowerment and public service earned widespread recognition.
Council Donates to Bereaved Family
As part of its support, the NYCN President presented a financial donation to the bereaved family on behalf of the National Executive Council, stakeholders and members of the Council.
The donation, according to the Council, was intended to support the family during this difficult period while reaffirming the organisation’s commitment to standing with its members and leaders in times of grief.
Tribute to a Legacy of Service
The Council described Hon. Gupar as a selfless leader whose contributions to youth advocacy and national development left a lasting impact on communities across Nigeria.
NYCN extended its condolences to the Gupar family, the Government and people of Plateau State, as well as the wider youth and women community, praying for the peaceful repose of her soul and strength for those she left behind.
