IFPD, ASSW Sign Pact to Drive Peacebuilding, Youth Development
The International Forum for Peace and Diplomacy (IFPD) has partnered with the Association for Students’ Social Welfare (ASSW) to advance peacebuilding, youth leadership development and social welfare programmes across Nigeria.

Both organisations formalised the partnership during a signing ceremony held at the World Trade Center, Abuja, where they outlined plans to implement coordinated initiatives with measurable impact.

The Director-General of IFPD, Amb. Timothy Adeniran, and Amb. Victor Adetolaju, MITPN, who represented ASSW, signed the agreement in the presence of stakeholders in diplomacy, youth engagement and social development.

Speaking at the event, Adeniran said the partnership is designed to deliver sustainable and structured interventions.

“This collaboration is built on long-term sustainability and institutional accountability. Our focus is to implement initiatives that will strengthen peacebuilding, empower young leaders, and improve social welfare systems for students and young people,” he said.

Adetolaju said the partnership would focus on policy dialogues, advocacy campaigns and youth capacity-building programmes.

“We are creating a framework for coordinated action with clear objectives and measurable outcomes. This will allow us to address emerging social challenges effectively,” he said.

Both organisations said the partnership would prioritise civic participation, leadership development and community-based interventions, adding that implementation of joint programmes would begin immediately.

They noted that detailed rollout plans are expected in the coming weeks.
