The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has scheduled the 2026 United Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) mock exam to hold on Saturday, March 28, 2025, as part of its effort to help candidates prepare for the main examination.
Introduced in 2017, the JAMB Mock is a voluntary pre-examination test designed to assess candidates’ readiness and familiarize them with the structure of the UTME. Over the years, many candidates have used the mock exam to gauge their preparedness and identify areas requiring improvement ahead of the main test.
Key Facts About the JAMB Mock Exam
The mock exam is optional, allowing candidates to decide whether to participate during the registration process. Participation in the mock does not affect candidates’ scores in the main UTME; it is solely intended as a preparatory exercise.
JAMB organizes the mock exam to evaluate candidates’ familiarity with the Computer Based Test (CBT) system, highlighting mistakes and providing guidance to correct them before the official examination. The exercise also allows the examination body to assess the readiness of accredited CBT centres nationwide and address any logistical or technical issues that could affect the main exam.
Guidance for Candidates
With the mock exam just weeks away, registered candidates are advised to intensify their preparation. As of this report, the printing of the 2026 JAMB UTME mock exam slips, which contain the exam venue and time for registered candidates—has not yet commenced.
Candidates are urged to monitor JAMB’s official communication channels for updates on the release of exam slips and other relevant information.
