The body of one of the two students from Ekiti State University (EKSU), Ado-Ekiti, who drowned at the Ero Dam in Ikun Ekiti, has been recovered.
The incident occurred last weekend when the two undergraduates were reported missing after swimming in the dam. Authorities confirmed that the students, identified as Oluwatobiloba Osho and Oladimeji Victor, both from the Department of Theatre Arts, had been part of a group visiting Igogo Ekiti for research and rehearsals.
After the supervisor and other members of the group left the area, the two students stayed behind and went sightseeing at the dam, where they were later presumed to have drowned.

SP Sunday Abutu, the Police Public Relations Officer for Ekiti State, confirmed the recovery of Osho’s body on Sunday evening at around 6:00 PM. The body was retrieved and taken to the Federal Teaching Hospital in Ido-Ekiti for autopsy. Search efforts for the second student are still ongoing.
The police and local fishermen had been conducting a search in the area since the students were declared missing.
