Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has distributed seedlings, livestock, and modern gardening tools to 340 youths who recently graduated from the Livestock and Horticulture Institutes.
In a statement on Thursday, the governor’s spokesman, Sanusi Tofa, announced that each graduate received either two bulls or two rams, along with three months of animal feed.
The initiative aims to combat poverty and promote youth empowerment while boosting food security in the state.
The first batch of graduates, trained at the Livestock and Horticulture Institute in Bebeji Local Government Area, also received water pumps, sack sprayers, and ₦100,000 in seed capital to support their ventures.
The programme will extend to a second batch of 340 youths, reaffirming the government’s commitment to sustainable agriculture and economic growth.
