Nigerian music legend Innocent Idibia, widely known as 2Baba, has set the record straight regarding recent speculations surrounding his Instagram account and his marriage.
In a heartfelt video shared on his Instagram story Sunday night, 2Baba confirmed that a post announcing his separation from his wife, Annie Idibia, was indeed authored by him, contrary to earlier claims that his account had been hacked.
The initial post, which caused a stir among fans, read:
“Hello to my beautiful people of all federations. Well, this thing I have to say is short but also long… Annie Macaulay and I have been separated for a while now, and I have currently filed for divorce.
“I would grant a press release soon to say my story. Not because it is anyone’s right to know about my personal life but because I love my people and I need them to know my innocence or offense. Stay blessed my people. I love you all.”
Shortly after, a follow-up message on the account stated:
“My Instagram account has been hacked, efforts are being carried out to take back control. #onelove!”
This conflicting update left fans confused and concerned. However, in his subsequent video, 2Baba clarified that the earlier message about his separation was genuine, and his account had not been compromised as previously suggested.
The revelation marks a public acknowledgment of the end of his 13-year union with actress Annie Idibia, a relationship that has been closely followed and celebrated by fans across the globe. While promising to share more details at a later time, 2Baba expressed gratitude to his supporters and asked for understanding during this personal period.
The confirmation has sparked mixed reactions among fans, with many expressing their support and admiration for his honesty.
