NYSC Relocates Corps Members from Benue Community

The NYSC in Benue State has officially announced the relocation of corps members from the Mbaa community following recent attacks. The safety and security of our corps members remain a top priority, prompting this necessary action. We are working diligently to ensure the well-being of all individuals involved in the NYSC program.

Yahuza Adamu, NYSC Benue’s Assistant Director of Information and Public Relations, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday.

He explained that the withdrawal followed repeated violent incidents in Mbaa, located in Kwande Local Government Area, endangering lives.

Reports revealed suspected armed herders recently killed over 20 residents, including 16 farmers found dead in River Katsina Ala.

Adamu assured parents and guardians that NYSC remains committed to corps members’ welfare and prioritizes their safety always.

He emphasized that NYSC had withdrawn corps members immediately and has not posted anyone there since the initial attacks.

“All corps members serving in Jato Acka Turan, distant from Mbaa, face no immediate or significant security threats,” Adamu noted.

The NYSC Kwande Local Government Inspector conducted a thorough headcount, confirming every corps member remains safe and accounted for.

Adamu stressed NYSC consistently takes proactive measures, collaborating with security agencies to mitigate risks affecting corps members’ safety.

Parents and guardians are advised to rely on official NYSC communication channels for accurate, up-to-date information regarding deployments.
