It was a joyous and memorable gathering on Thursday, August 21, 2025, as State Coordinators from Enugu, Anambra, and Ebonyi States, alongside staff of the South East Area Office 1 (SEAO 1), Enugu, held a befitting send-forth ceremony in honour of their retiring Director, Mr. Adegoke Ayodele.
Mr. Adegoke, who officially bows out of active service on August 26, 2025, after attaining the statutory retirement age, was celebrated for his exemplary leadership, humility, and unwavering dedication to the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

Fondly described as a “jolly good fellow” and a man of integrity, Adegoke was commended by colleagues and subordinates for his commitment to staff welfare and his remarkable contributions to the growth of the scheme across Enugu, Anambra, and Ebonyi States.
During the event, State Coordinators, Deputy Directors, and other staff paid glowing tributes to his service, describing his tenure as one defined by fairness, diligence, and efficiency.
In his remarks, Mr. Adegoke expressed gratitude to God for granting him good health to retire gracefully. He appreciated the State Coordinators and SEAO 1 staff for organizing the honour in his name, while also acknowledging the NYSC management for the opportunity to serve.
The colourful ceremony featured the presentation of gifts to the retiring Director in recognition of his outstanding service and contributions to the upliftment of staff and the Area Office.
