Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has encouraged corps members deployed to the state to fully embrace the opportunities provided by the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
Speaking during the 2024 Batch C Stream II orientation programme at the NYSC camp in Ede, Adeleke emphasized discipline, law-abiding conduct, and commitment to national values as essential for a successful service year.
Represented by Secretary to the State Government Teslim Igbalaye, Adeleke called on corps members to foster unity, build lifelong friendships, and remain good ambassadors of their families and Nigeria.
NYSC State Coordinator Agbor Ndoma Obim revealed that 2,900 corps members, including 1,113 dislodged from Lagos, were deployed to Osun. He highlighted the scheme’s role in nation-building through its four cardinal programmes: Orientation, Primary Assignment, Community Development Service, and Passing-Out.
The ceremony also included the administration of the national pledge and NYSC oath by Justice Joseph Olukunle Owolari on behalf of the state’s Chief Judge.
