Urges them to spark positive development and serve with integrity
The Executive Chairman of Omuma Local Government Area, Hon. Uchechukwu Obasi, has urged Corps Members to spark positive change in their communities and become game changers in their places of primary assignment.
Hon. Obasi gave the charge on Tuesday while receiving the 2025 Batch B Stream II Corps Members posted to Omuma LGA in his office.
He reminded them that true development begins when people carry out their duties with integrity, honesty, diligence, and commitment, even when no one is watching.
“Real development begins when things are done with integrity, honesty, truth, diligence, commitment, and dedication in small corners without anyone watching,” he said.
The council boss also encouraged the Corps Members to uphold the values and objectives of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), and to serve the people of Omuma with dedication and selflessness.
He assured them of his administration’s commitment to their welfare and security, adding that the new central Corps Lodge would soon be completed. He also gifted the Corps Members ₦50,000 for refreshments.
Earlier, the Local Government Inspector (LGI), Mr. Arinze Egwuatu, appreciated the chairman for his continuous support of NYSC programmes in the area.
He appealed for the speedy completion of the Corps Lodge, provision of mattresses and beddings for the temporary accommodation, and payment of a monthly stipend to motivate the Corps Members.
