The Corpers’ Journey Advocacy Network (CJAN) has commended the Adamawa State Government for approving N7.8 billion for the construction of a permanent National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) orientation camp at Malkohi in Yola South Local Government Area.
The group described the decision as a significant investment in youth development and national integration, noting that the project would enhance the welfare and safety of corps members deployed to the state.
In a statement on Saturday, Managing Director of CJAN, Taiwo Ajayi Adeola, said the new orientation camp will improve the operational efficiency of the NYSC scheme and strengthen community engagement across the North-East region.
The statement also lauded the state government for allocating funds to critical healthcare and infrastructure projects, including the renovation of Gulak and Guyuk Cottage Hospitals and the upgrade of the Guyuk Water Supply Scheme.
Ajayi urged other state governments to emulate Adamawa’s proactive approach to youth and public welfare, emphasizing that improving camp facilities nationwide is key to motivating young Nigerians participating in national service.
“This is not just about infrastructure; it’s about showing genuine commitment to national unity and youth empowerment,” he said. “We commend Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for prioritizing the safety and well-being of corps members serving in Adamawa.”
