Gunmen have kidnapped seven travelers along the Owo-Ipele axis of the Owo-Benin highway in Ondo State.
The attack, which occurred over the weekend, has raised concerns over escalating insecurity in the region.
Funmilayo Odunlami, the Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the abduction and assured that security officers have been deployed to rescue the victims.
This incident comes on the heels of another attack in the state, where five farmers were killed in Ajegunle Powerline, Akure North Local Government Area. The increasing frequency of such violent crimes has sparked fear and demands for enhanced security in Ondo State.
