Abdullahi, who held a position of trust and influence, was apprehended by the local vigilante group after substantial evidence tied him to the abduction of 17 residents from Walawa and surrounding communities.
According to local sources, Abdullahi exploited his leadership role to target vulnerable individuals, coordinating their kidnappings and demanding ransom payments.
The arrest was the result of a joint effort between the vigilante group and local law enforcement, who had been investigating his activities for months. During interrogation by the community watch, Abdullahi reportedly confessed to orchestrating several kidnapping operations, admitting to his role in terrorizing the very people he was entrusted to protect.]

“This betrayal cuts deep,” said a member of the vigilante group who wished to remain anonymous. “It’s unimaginable that someone we trusted could be behind such evil acts against his own people.”
The incident has left the community reeling, with many residents expressing a mix of anger and relief. “He used his authority to harm us,” one resident said. “But now that he has been caught, we can start to feel safe again.”
Authorities have assured the public that Abdullahi will face justice and that further investigations are underway to dismantle any networks he may have been part of.
This development underscores the growing efforts by communities in Katsina State to reclaim their safety amidst rising insecurity.
