The Cross River State Police Command has arrested Mathias Amunde for allegedly killing his mother with a stick and dumping her body in a well in the Obudu Local Government Area.
A video of Amunde’s interrogation, shared on Instagram by @isaacfayoseoriginal, revealed that he and an accomplice, identified as Walcot, carried out the act. Amunde admitted that after striking his mother with a stick, Walcot dragged her body outside, and the two jointly disposed of her remains in a well.
In his statement, Amunde said, “I and Walcot killed her with a stick. Afterward, Walcot dragged her out, and we carried her body to the well and threw it inside.”

Police Public Relations Officer Irene Ugbo confirmed the arrest and stated that the case would be transferred to the command headquarters for further investigation.
The accomplice, Walcot, reportedly fled the scene after the incident.
