Chidubem Okafor, a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member serving in Enugu State, has won the Fidelity Bank

Chidubem Okafor, a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member serving in Enugu State, has won the Fidelity Bank entrepreneurship grant for corps members.

Presenting the grant, Ivuoma Nwosu, the bank’s sales coordinator in Enugu, said it aims to help corps members start businesses after service.

She explained that the initiative spans across multiple states, with eight other corps members from different states also benefiting.

The winners were randomly selected electronically after opening accounts with the bank during their NYSC orientation camp.

“Our bank included corps members in a promo, and we visited their camps to open accounts for them,” Nwosu stated.

She encouraged Mr. Okafor to remain focused and utilize the grant effectively to establish a sustainable business.

Chairperson of Enugu North Council Area, Ibenaku Onoh, congratulated Okafor and supported him with an additional ₦200,000.

NYSC Enugu State Coordinator, Olukemi Awolola, urged corps members to embrace skill acquisition for financial independence after service.

Expressing gratitude, Okafor admitted he initially thought the grant was a scam but is now excited to put it to good use.
