In preparation for the 2025 Batch B Stream I Orientation Course, the Plateau State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Mr. Jonathan I. Yavala, met with camp market operators to enforce price regulation and service standards within the orientation camp.

The meeting, held at the Multipurpose Hall of the NYSC Secretariat along Miango Road in Jos, brought together vendors and officials to address key issues related to affordability, quality assurance, and price uniformity.

Mr. Yavala emphasized that all vendors must strictly adhere to the official price list approved by the NYSC management. He stated that arbitrary price inflation or discrepancies would not be tolerated and warned that defaulters would face appropriate sanctions.

He further stated that the Camp Market Committee, in collaboration with the Price Monitoring Committee, would be responsible for monitoring compliance to ensure transparency and accountability in camp business operations.

The interactive session also provided an opportunity for marketers to voice their concerns, highlight challenges, and suggest improvements to the NYSC management.

Mr. Yavala reaffirmed NYSC’s commitment to maintaining a fair and supportive business environment while prioritizing the welfare of Corps Members. He added that the goal is to maintain a functional and accessible market system that benefits both traders and Corps Members throughout the orientation period.
