The school authority announced the suspension of activities on campus due to protests by students over the management’s decision to verify their National Diploma results.

Authorities of the Ogun State-owned Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), Abeokuta, have announced the closure of the Polytechnic effective from Monday,  January 13, 2025, till further notice.

The protests also stem from claims of tuition fee hikes and delays in the mobilization of Higher National Diploma (HND) students for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

In a statement issued in Abeokuta by the institution’s public relations officer, Yemi Ajibola, the school emphasized its commitment to ensuring the authenticity of student results, with a strong stance against fake credentials. Students were urged to remain off-campus for their safety as the situation is being closely monitored, with parents and the public assured of further updates.
