In a bid to improve the quality of education, the Tompolo Foundation, in collaboration with the Delta State National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has trained over 50 corps members in the Warri zonal area.
The training, held in Uvwie Local Government Area, focused on enhancing the pedagogical skills of corps members, equipping them with effective teaching techniques to bridge the gap in rural and riverine communities.
Chief Government Ekpomupolo, Chairman of the Tompolo Foundation, emphasized the foundation’s commitment to quality education. Represented by Dr. Paul Bebenimibo, he highlighted the challenges corps members face in teaching and stressed the importance of empowering them with proper skills.
“The Tompolo Foundation has been assisting corps members with stipends, accommodations, and other incentives to encourage their service in underserved areas. Well-trained corps members will leave a lasting impact on students,” he said.
Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Mrs. Rose Ezewu, commended the initiative and urged other stakeholders to support similar efforts.
The training, set to officially begin on March 18, 2025, marks the first phase of the programme, aiming to strengthen the education system and contribute to national development.
