Social media users have continued to react after a new video allegedly showing a kidnapped National Youth Service Corps member in Zamfara State surfaced online.

The clip, which began circulating on X, formerly known as Twitter, has drawn widespread attention, with many Nigerians expressing concern over the safety of corps members posted to states affected by insecurity.

The video gained traction after it was shared by an X user, @Arewa_Source, alongside images from the reported abduction and a video interview with the driver who was transporting the corps members at the time of the incident.

In the post, the user raised questions about the role of the driver and why he had not been arrested.

“There is an update on the story of the kidnapped NYSC member, Abba, in Zamfara State.

Why isn’t the driver of the car taking them to Zamfara State arrested yet? What are the security agencies doing about this incident?

The post linked to a video report examining the circumstances surrounding the abduction, including questions about the driver’s actions at the time the corps members were reportedly kidnapped.

Shortly after the clip surfaced, another video related to the incident began circulating on the platform, suggesting that the abducted corps member might still be alive.

In a separate post, another X user, @Its_Deenee, claimed the victim, identified as Abba, appeared to respond to a question in the video by referencing the date on the Islamic calendar.

“Hi everyone, Abba the corper is alive!
Abba was responding to a question in the video saying today is the 19th of Ramadan, so he made the video today.
All they are asking for now is two machines. Please guys, we need to come together again and chip in whatever we can.”

The post included a video of a man who identified himself as Abba speaking from captivity.

Abba, a graduate of Federal University Gusau, was reportedly abducted while travelling along the Gusau–Sokoto highway, a route that has experienced repeated attacks by armed bandits in recent years.

The incident drew public attention after reports emerged that the abductors had demanded ransom from the victim’s family.

The circulation of the latest videos has renewed discussions online about the progress of efforts to secure his release.

The posts quickly spread across social media platforms, triggering debates among users about the circumstances surrounding the abduction and the broader issue of security for corps members.

Some users questioned how the kidnapping occurred and whether authorities were doing enough to investigate the case.
