The management of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has issued guidelines to accredited cybercafé operators ahead of the online registration for the 2026 mobilisation of prospective corps members.
In a statement shared on its official X handle, formerly known as Twitter, the scheme announced that the mobilisation portal for foreign and locally trained Nigerian graduates will be open from March 12 to March 18, 2026.
“The NYSC Management wishes to inform all its accredited Cybercafé Business Operators (CBOs) that the mobilisation portal for online registration by foreign and locally trained Nigerian graduates will be opened from 12th – 18th March, 2026,” the statement read.
To ensure a smooth registration process, the scheme urged cybercafé operators to comply with specific requirements while capturing passport photographs of prospective corps members.
According to the directive, operators must use validated systems equipped with high-resolution cameras and ensure adequate lighting during the photograph capture process.
The NYSC also instructed that prospective corps members must position their heads in a way that both ears are clearly visible, while photographs must be taken against a white or off-white background.
The guidelines further prohibit the use of eyeglasses or any form of facial obstruction during the photograph capture.
In addition, the scheme warned against indecent dressing, stating that photographs taken with nudity or individuals wearing only underwear will not be accepted.
The NYSC also barred the use of NYSC uniforms, military outfits, or paramilitary uniforms during the registration process.
The management emphasised that accredited cybercafé operators must strictly adhere to the guidelines to avoid sanctions during the registration exercise.
