The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has commenced applications for the 2027 Batch of its Young Professional Immersion Programme (YPIP), offering young graduates across the region a one-year, fully funded opportunity to gain professional experience within ECOWAS institutions.
The announcement was made by Nigeria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which encouraged qualified young Nigerians to take advantage of the programme aimed at strengthening regional integration while equipping participants with practical workplace experience and technical skills.
According to the Ministry, the ECOWAS Young Professional Immersion Programme is designed for dynamic young citizens of ECOWAS Member States who are passionate about regional development. Successful applicants will work alongside experienced professionals and contribute to the implementation of regional integration initiatives across the West African bloc.
To qualify, applicants must be citizens of an ECOWAS Member State, be 32 years old or younger, and possess a degree in a relevant field from a recognised higher institution.
Applications opened on 31 July 2026 and will close on 31 August 2026.

Interested candidates are required to submit their applications through the official ECOWAS Young Professional Immersion Programme portal.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the initiative as a unique opportunity for young Nigerians to build professional capacity, expand their careers and contribute to the socio-economic development and integration of the ECOWAS region.
