A tanker explosion at Karamin Rami village, Mashegu LGA, injured one person and caused widespread farmland destruction.
Niger State Emergency Management Agency confirmed that the incident occurred on March 4 when a tanker overturned and spilled PMS.
The fuel ignited after contacting a water pump used by farmers, sparking a fire that spread to the tanker and exploded.
The resulting inferno extended to farmlands through contaminated stream water, injuring farmers and destroying rice fields and crops.
The injured victim, Maimuna Isah, is currently receiving treatment at Saho Rami Primary Health Care Centre.
