Samson Ateli addressing NYSC 2025 Batch B Stream II corps members in Abuja camp

Prospective Corps Members (PCMs) deployed to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) for the 2025 Batch B Stream II orientation course have been urged to let discipline be their watchword during the orientation period and beyond.

The FCT Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Mr. Samson Ateli, made the call on Thursday, 25 September 2025, during his briefing at the Multipurpose Hall of the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Kubwa, Abuja.

Ateli took time to explain the four cardinal programs of the NYSC—Orientation Course, Primary Assignment, Community Development Service (CDS), and Passing-Out/Graduation and then elaborated on key facets of the orientation schedule: allowances, feeding, Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED), sports, lectures, and other activities.

He encouraged the corps members to participate actively and take every camp activity seriously, particularly the SAED Programme, which he described as vital to their post-service livelihoods.

Emphasizing the structured nature of camp life, Mr. Ateli reminded the PCMs that the orientation camp is a “regimented place,” where obedience to rules and regulations and mutual respect among corps members are mandatory.

He also warned against the circulation of fake or unverified stories on social media that could damage the reputation of the NYSC, stating that such misconduct would not be tolerated.

After his address, Mr. Ateli gave the PCMs an opportunity to ask questions, and his team provided comprehensive responses. He concluded by wishing them a rewarding and memorable orientation experience.
