On January 23, 2024, the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, joined by several state First Ladies, officially launched the NYSC Digital Museum of Dynamic History and Television Studio.
The event, held at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) National Directorate Headquarters in Maitama, Abuja, marked a major milestone in preserving Nigeria’s youth history and celebrating the contributions of NYSC members across key sectors like healthcare, technology, and community development.
In her speech, Senator Tinubu emphasized the importance of the new digital museum as a platform to highlight the achievements of Nigerian youth.
“This museum is more than just a history display; it is a celebration of the extraordinary contributions made by Nigeria’s youth in shaping the nation’s growth,” she said, underscoring their creativity, strength, and commitment to national unity.
The event also included speeches from Ayodele Olawande, the Minister of Youth Development, and Brigadier General YD Ahmed, the NYSC Director General, who expressed pride in the museum and television studio’s potential to preserve Nigeria’s rich heritage while meeting global standards.
A standout moment was the unveiling of the ceremonial cloth by the First Lady, revealing a beautifully inscribed plaque on the building to commemorate the historic occasion. The unveiling was followed by vibrant cultural dance performances, showcasing the diversity of Nigerian traditions.
Prominent figures at the event included the First Lady of Imo State, Chioma Uzodimma, and other dignitaries who celebrated this new initiative.
