NYSC DG Cautions Corps Members Against Unauthorized Travel
Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), YD Ahmed has advised corps members to avoid traveling without obtaining permission from the appropriate authorities.
During his visit on Thursday to the 2024 Batch ‘B’ Stream One orientation camps in Bayelsa and Rivers, Ahmed stressed the importance of following this rule, warning that any corps member who violates it will face consequences.
He urged corps members to remain vigilant and avoid risky behaviors that could endanger their safety. Ahmed also highlighted the importance of contributing positively to their places of primary assignment (PPAs) and host communities.
“Attend all the lectures in camp, maintain good relationships with your fellow corps members, and strive to add value to your host communities and PPAs by executing beneficial projects,” he advised.
Obiageli Okpalifo, the NYSC state coordinator in Bayelsa, remarked that the corps members have acclimated well to camp life. Meanwhile, George Mfongang, the Rivers state coordinator, noted that the 1,800 registered corps members, comprising 663 males and 1,137 females, have shown high levels of patriotism, discipline, commitment, enthusiasm, and respect for authority.
