JAMB Remits N6.03 Billion to Federal Govt in 2024

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has remitted a total of N6,034,605,510.69 to the Federal Government in 2024, showcasing its commitment to financial transparency.

However, the total remittance would have amounted to N9,013,068,510.69 if not for the N1,500 reduction per form for candidates of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

JAMB shared this information in its weekly bulletin, with its spokesperson, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, providing further details. The Board also reported generating a total income of N22,996,653,265.25 in 2024.

Of the total income, N18,198,739,362.68 was expended on conducting examinations, paying service providers, and covering essential operational costs, including staff claims, which amounted to N2,119,571,022.88.

The Board emphasized its commitment to accountability, transparency, and openness in its financial practices, noting that since 2017, it has consistently provided weekly income and expenditure reports for public scrutiny.

Professor Is-haq Oloyede’s management team, upon taking office, prioritized financial responsibility, with the Board remitting over N7 billion during its first year in office. Furthermore, a program to reduce the cost of application documents by N1,500 was initiated, continuing in subsequent years with remittances to the federal treasury.

Looking ahead to 2025, JAMB reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining financial transparency and ensuring fairness in the admission process, its core mandate.
