Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, the Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has assured corps members that their monthly stipends will be increased soon.
Addressing 2,762 Batch B, Stream One corps members at the Ogun State NYSC Orientation Camp in Sagamu on Saturday, the DG mentioned that the allowance hike would follow the conclusion of the ongoing minimum wage negotiations.
“The government recognizes how special you are and won’t forget you. Once the minimum wage talks are finalized, your allowance will definitely be increased,” stated Brig Gen Ahmed.
He also cautioned corps members against posting camp activities on social media, highlighting that it is against NYSC regulations. Ahmed noted that three corps members had been expelled for violating this rule.
“Remember, posting camp activities online is prohibited. Three of your colleagues were decamped for doing so,” he added.
